I have very little information about this family. I found a death notice in the Sydney Morning Herald and it referred to the father as Crown Solicitor County Galway:
BLAKENEY -August 7 at his residence 6 Barton-avenue Hurlstone Park, Martin John the beloved husband of Mary Blakeney and son of the late James Blakeney, formerly crown Solicitor Galway, Ireland aged 89. [SMH Friday 8th August, 1930]
I have tried to find a list of Crown Solicitors from County Galway, but so far, no luck.
I believe that James Blakeney's wife was Mary Kirwan.

The full title given for these are "Crown Solicitors at Quarter Sessions" or "Sessional Crown Solicitors", and found the following for Galway :
1848 : Henry O'Loughlin, Dunmore (Thom's)
1858 : Henry O'Loughlin, Dunmore (Thom's)
1868 : Patrick O'Loughlin, Dunmore & Dublin (Thom's)There's a John and James Blakeney solicitors that appear at an address at 20 Upper Gloucester St., Dublin city in the 1848 list of solicitors/attorneys.
A separate entry shows John with a second address of simply Galway.
Slater's 1846 shows a possible link entry for him - John Blakeney, attorney and coroner, listed at Mary St., Galway city.
An 1845 listing (Pettigrew and Oulton) shows this John and James at the same Dublin city address, and gives a second address for James as 13 Montpelier Parade, Monkstown. There are at least two place named Monkstown in Ireland, but this reference is to the one in south east co. Dublin (near Dun Laoghaire), and probably the place of residence for this James. The crown solicitor for Galway city & county at the time is listed as Hy. O'Loughlin.
The Crown solicitor for County Galway listed for 1840 (also Pettigrew & Oulton), as "Hen. O'Loghlen". There are section county and town officials in the 1834 edition, but these make no mention of the term Crown Solicitor that I can see.The list of Attorney/Solicitors for that year includes a John and Edward Blakeney in Dublin. As far as I know all solicitors had to have a registered Dublin address, and in later directory both addresses for them are often included.
Pigot's 1824 directory mentions an R. Blakeney barrister in Dublin city, and J. Blakeney Attorney also in Dublin, a James Blakeney, attorney possibly the same person appears in the Galway city listing at Abbey-gate street, along with a John Blakeney, attorney. You can see an image of this entry on the failteromhat website at this link See the left hand column, about five sections down. There's some damage to that part of the page. My copy of the directory is intact so could upload a scan of that section if that's of interest....
