Trying to find & verify birth parishes & origins of Patrick Flaherty & Celia/Bridget (O'Flaherty) Flaherty who immigrated from Galway to Graceville-St. Paul MN in 1880, via arrival in Boston, and sponsored by archbishop John Ireland in St Paul MN along with other "Conamara"  families. Patrick may be Son  of  a John Flaherty -Wife, Annie (O'Conner) Flaherty.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

You posted in the Lettermullin RC parish page so I assume Patrick and Celia/Bridget were married in that parish. I searched Roots Ireland in that parish for the marriage record for a Patrick Flahertyfrom 1864-1880. Four records came up in 1870 1872 1875 and 1877. However the maiden name for the spouse was not Flaherty/O'Flaherty for any of the records and the first name was not Celia or Bridget on any of the records.  Also records start in 1853 after when Patrick or Celia/Bridget were baptized.

Any other clues on the marriage?

  • Thank you Roger. I am confused as to,parish names & now interpert Griffiths - that kilcumin parish for lettermullin. So now investigating kilcumin & killannin parishes. Did find a Patrick & Bridget Flaherty ( sponsors - I think, For Colman & Pat Mary Flaherty) July 17 1864, on baptism record -  lettermullin on irishtimes.com. Now trying to understand entries on page.
