Looking for the churches that were Catholic and would have been visited by one living in Rathfee,Turloughmore. My great great grandfather John DEMOY b. abt 1821 (where?) died in Rathfee, Turloughmore, Galway in 1893. I have yet in 18 years been able to get the record for this. I also have never been able to find any burial info. I realize records during this period are hit and miss. Hoping someone with skill in that region can help me. It is a very rare surname. Any Demoy during that period are related to mine in some way I have checked GRO. His death is listed on an index but they wrote back saying they couldnt find it. Makes no sense. ?? What are the burial/cemetery procedures for that timeperiod and cemeteries in existence from then?
Kind regards-

Rathfee , Turloughmore help....
Please refer to my earlier comment. In addition:-
There is a historic graveyard and church situated in the townland of Rathfee but this may predate your date of death by a hundred years or more and unlikely there remain any identifiable headstones.
