Hello,
My name is Tom Dooley from Michigan in the U.S. My great-great grandfather John Dooley was reportedly born in Menlough around 1829. He emigrated to New York in 1847 when he was 18 years of age. He married Ellen Cunningham - who was on the same ship - upon arrival in New York. Lived in Niagara Falls, N.Y. and later worked on the railway in Canada. He died in 1889 and is buried in Wyoming, Lambdon County, Ontario. The ship manifest indicated that he was a cord wainer or shoemaker.
We know nothing of his family in Ireland. Any insights or help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you
Dooley Family Tree

Please respond back and I will then see if there are any of your Dooley connections still in the area
