Hello~
My Great-Grandfather's military draft card has his place of birth recorded as Kilemore, Ireland. (Spelled exactley like that). Before I found that card, my dad told me that myg-grandfather was from Portumna, but we had nothing on paper to that effect.
So my question: Is Kilemore the same place as Killimor? Or do you think it is more likely Kylemore as in Kylemore Abbey?
Thank you!
Mary

Mary,
There are several places in Ireland called Kilemore (and variant spellings). I would say the best way to trace the right one is if you give us his full name and date of birth, plus his parents names if you have them (from a marriage or death certificate). That will enable us to search the civil registration records for his birth.
