I'm interested in any details anyone might have about the lives of the families who lived in Tyrone House.  Letitia French St. George, the daught of Christopher French St. George, married James Kelly, and had a son, Henry Kelly, who married a Miss Gordon.  Their daughter, Louisa Gordon Kelly was my great-grandmother.   Would love to share any bits of information about this family-- bits that I have, and bits that others might have.

  • I am descended from Anthony Kelly who worked for Arthur Shane Bingham, grandson of Major Denis Bingham. The Binghams were related to Henry Kelly, whose full name was Henry Michael Bingham Kelly. His mother Letitia St. George seems to have been connected to Letitia Bingham - who was a reputed descendant of King Charles II as it happens! The Bingham family are large in size, and there seem to be various overlaps with them, the St. Georges, and the Kelly clan. I'm not sure at all whether Anthony Kelly connected to James Kelly, father of Henry. You might be able to fill me in more there? I noticed here - https://www.geni.com/people/James-Kelly-43/6000000014035018059 - that James Kelly is supposed to have died in Co. Mayo, perhaps suggesting his family had some holdings there. My Kelly ancestors do indeed come from Co. Mayo also. I am aware of another man who was named Edward Kelly that worked alongside Major Denis Bingham - they were in fact brothers-in-law, having married two Geraghty sisters. The relationship turned sour, after Thomas Kelly - Edward's son - participated in the 1798 Rebellion and was exiled to the Plantations, where he died of yellow fever, by the Major. In any case, I'd imagine Anthony Kelly (my ancestor) somehow connects with James Kelly, and perhaps Edward Kelly also - though his origin apparently was Co. Roscommon. The exact links would be very interesting to fill in.
