Hi all, Im trying unsuccessfully to trace my maternal mums family on very little facts .my nan was born in gort galway 26/04/1926 named mary margaret moran , her mum also mary and her dad michael thomas/thomas michael? They had a farm and more children than wealth colman remained at the farm but father patrick joseph travelled to canadas indian reserve to teach the good lord. some other siblings went to america and canada and war time would send parcels over to my nan living in brixton london at time.another kitty /kate married to become kirby/.kirkby residing north england, bridie ,anne, thomas, michael, were a few more of the siblings. My mum had spent many summers visiting her nan on the farm . I know finding a mary moran on a farm is a needle in haystack odds as many named same or similar, but hoping maybe a few of the less regular facts will ring true with someone, a few of the men worked at guiness factory

  • Unfortunately the birth/baptism records stop in 1920 on www.rootsireland.ie/
Your best bet would be to trawl through the 1911 Census which is free at http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/
If you know Mary's siblings you can hopefully match the family and that will give the address.
