I am hoping to locate where my ancestors came from in Ireland.
An ancestry.com post which is no longer availablle suggested they came from Feaghmore Eighter, Fahy, Co. Galway, although I have been unable to find any records to verify this.
What I know:
My ggg grandfather George Donoghue ( many variations of the spelling) was married to Bridgett Lenon, Leonard,Laynard, Lenard again many variations of spelling, born around 1807? They had a daughter Elizabeth born 1825 and a daughter Magaret born 1828. They left Ireland for Canada in 1830 and recieved a land grant for the toen of Rawdon in Quebec. Other Donoughues in Raootwdon at that time were Henry jr, and Null.
That is all I know. We are planning a trip to Ireland in September/October and would love to visit where they came from. Any help or direction would be much appreciated, Thank you, Susan R

Sorry for the miss-spellings in the above post the town in Canada is Rawdon.
It has also been suggested that they may have come from Bellaugh, near Athlone Co. Westmeath.
Thank you for your help and suggestions, Susan

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Since you are not sure where your ancestors came from in Ireland, have you considered autosomal DNA testing. Possibly you might match someone who has more info on your family. Also, the availability of church records decreases the further you go back to 1800.
I could not find a townland called Bellaugh in Westmeath.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Bellaugh is in Roscommon near Athlone.
I have done DNA testing with ancestry.com, some family trees have come up, however no one seems to know where in Ireland. The info I did get was from a private family tree that I no longer find available.
We are coming to Ireland the last week in September and renting a house in Ballycumber for 2 weeks. Any suggestions for the visit and looking for ancesters would be very welcome! Thank you for your help. Susan
