I am staying in Portumna for a few weeks, and would like to connect with someone who could give me some background information on rural life in this area in the 19th century.  I am particularly interested in the period from 1850 - 1900, but have a few questions about the first half of the century as well.

I would also appreciate suggestions of reading material on this subject.

Thanks in advance
