Hi, I am seeking information about the Cahill Donohoe family. Their daughter Margaret Mary Cahill was baptised in Cummer in October 1842. Her parent Patrick Cahill and Bridget Donohoe were married in the Parish of Cumer, Co Galway 31 October 1830. The witnesses to the marriage were were Patrick Roach & Honor Donohoe. Her father, Patrick Cahill, later leased land at Athenry from William V F Hickman.

Hi Kelle,
I have an Honor Donohoe of Cummer in my family tree. She married Thady Reilly and gave birth to my Gt Grandfather Michael Reilly at Cummer in 1846. I have also been trying to find more about them, but without success so far. I don't know if this is the same Honor, but the timing seems reasonable. Perhaps Honor and Bridget are sisters.

Thank you so much for your email. Do you know if Cummer was a very big parish at the time? If not then and if the time frames are a match then perhaps there is a relationship - perhaps sisters or cousins.
I have a strong connection to Galway.. Unfortunately I have not been able to dig around in the Galway archives as much as I would like to as they charge a euro a look, whether one finds anything relevant or not!
