The church in Belclare is Sacred Heart. This is the link to the site. I have not been able to how far back their records go but possibly you can contact them and find out. The area is about 5 miles from Tuam.

I also looked at the 1901 census and there were two Costello families living in Cloonmore. Go to www.nationalarchives.ie to search their records.

Thank you, Roger. I've sent an email to Sacred Heart Church in Belclare, but I haven't had a response yet. We'll be in Dubln before Galway. Do you think I might find church records at the National Library? From their website it looks like they might have some R.C. church records dating back to the early/mid 1800's on microfilm. Do you know of any local historical societies that would include that area west of Tuam? I wonder if they might know something of the history of that area? I'm curious as to how long the Grant (Cloonmore)  Estate was in existence. Thanks in advance for your help!

The first two are either side of Tuam and the other is near Oughterard.

Thanks so much for your response! I have spent some time looking at the censuses, and I think I've found the Cloonmore that looks most promising. I hope to look at RC church records at the National Library when I'm in Dublin and maybe find Baptismal records that will put my ancestors in that particular place. I appreciate your offer of help, and I'll take your email address with me. I'm travelling with my three yound adult daughters, and we have a pretty full sightseeing itinerary. Thanks again!
