In my search for my ancestor Michael Madden who immigrated to Australia in 1841 a link comes up stating he was born in Old Moor. Is this a town in your parish? Another link suggests he was born in Balinacher.
We know he was born in Galway in about 1820.

Hi Daisy,
As far as I know there is no Old Moor in Ireland, there are several townlands in Ireland with the name Moor and there is an Old Moor in Yorkshire England. There is also a townland called Moor in County Galway in the parish of Athenry
Balinacher does not exist either there is a Ballinacrea in County Carlow and a Ballincrea in Kilkenny
I did find a baptism for a Michael Madden in Loughrea county Galway, born 28 October 1820 baptised 24 January 1821 in Loughrea, parents James and Honora Madden

Thank you so much for this information. This fits with what I have found out about him. He immigrated in 1841 on the Wallace. In 1851 he and his wife took over the Mia Mia inn in Victoria.
I will order up the birth certificate in the coming days.
This information probably narrows down my search for Bridget Coughlan - Biddy Coglin on the ships record. She was also from Galway and immigrated on the Wallace in 1841.

Daisy birth certificates are not available for the time before 1864 when civil registration started in Ireland till 1864 we only have church records.
