I am trying to find where in Ireland Lawrence Kenny and Bridget Cahill lived, beyond the cursory “Ireland” that appears in the American records. Their son John, our ancestor, went to the Lancaster region of England where he married Margaret Mullins and raised his family before emigrating to the U.S.A.
I found at the link below a marriage between .Catherine Kenny, daughter of Lawrence Kenny and Bridget Cahill, and Michael Connelly (see table below). The Bride is from Ffrench Village, which I believe is also called Ballynacorra (second link), and may or may not be part of the Ballinasloe parish.

I do not know if this Catherine Kenny is the sister of John Kenny, and I am not able to read the baptism records of the corresponding years. I am not sure of the Ballinasloe place of birth for John, and the person who gave it to me passed away. It did however start with Balli...
Here is all the information I have on this family.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out an apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
I have tried without success to locate a marriage record for Lawrence and Bridget and for any children born to them. It is a distinct possibility that the record you found is a sibling of John but we cannot be 100% sure. It could well be the case that the children were born in a parish and at a time that predates parish records.
The one record I did find was a death cert for a Lawrence who lived at Derry, Eyrecourt, Galway and died on 10-Dec-1881. However, the informant at time of death was a son named Patrick and so this may not be relevant. This Lawrence was lised as a Shepherd.
Let me know what you think
Best wishes

Dear Clare,
Thanks for having done so much work on my request. Indeed the death certificate that you have could be for another Lawrence Kenny. John, son of Lawrence Kenny and Briodget Cahill first moved from Ireland to Salford, Lancashire England, where he married Margaret Mullins. I was able to obtain a copy of thir wedding certificate but it only mentions the residence at the time of mariage (Salfortd) and not the birth place.
I have information from the 1881 English census for the town of Farnworth, Lancashire, (FHL Film 1341912 PRO Ref RG11 Piece 3815 Folio 70 Page 34) where the family then lived with their children. Margaret Kenny/Mullins, listed as having been born in Ireland, with no precise town/parish. The father, John, may have already left for the U.S.A. Would there be some other English document that would help me locate the birt place of John Kenny or Margaret Mullins?
I attach a pdf document that I created in 2012, explaining what I had done up to that point to find a birth place in Ireland for our Kenny ancestors, It has a second section related to the Connel family, another brach of ancestors, who also came to the U.S.A. from Ireland. Since 2012, I have not been able to make progress on either of these branches and have concentrated my efforts on my French ancestors.
