Hi, I am not even sure I am on the right message board but I am trying to trace a family called Daly born in Hogs Valley, Galway. Judith (also known as Julia) McGann married a Conor Daly (born circa 1850 in Hogs Valley) on August 11, 1870 in Ballinasloe RC Church. They had ten children. Margaret Daly was born in 1872 and then came Patrick in 1874, Catherine in 1881 died 1965, Ellen, Thomas, Ann, John, Julia, Michael and Mary.
Does anyone know of this family. I would love to connect with them and given there are ten children, I am guessing there is probably quite a few Dalys around :-) My connection is to the McGann side - Julia. thank you
Rach

Dear Rach:
Many thanks for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board.
From what information you have given, it would appear that your Julia McGann married Connor Daly on 11 August 1870 in the parish of Killaan, County Galway. This area is also known as New Inn or Bullaun according to the National Library of Ireland registers. There is a Church marriage record on the Roots Ireland database with the above marriage details. I'm attaching a copy for you.
In addition, I was able to find 3 baptism records for you which show that the children were baptised and residing in Hog's Valley, Athenry. Their father Connor Daly was a tailor/farmer. On Thomas Daly's civil birth record, Hog's Valley is given its English equivalent which is Glanamuck. It would appear to be the same family. The parish that you would be looking at more closely would be that of Athenry.
If you need further assistance, please let us know. I will change your post to Athenry if you wish. Let me know.
The very best of luck with your research!
Kind regards,
Jane.
