My earliest traced ancestor, Edward Collins (b. 1773) and his wife Deborah had children (Francis 1802, Jane 1803, Thomas1805, Francis1807 ,Anne 1810, and Richard 1816) who immigrated to Ontario, Canada around 1824. Thomas, Francis, and Anne were baptised in Ballinakill in those years. It appears that the earlier children had been baptised in Ballingarrane and Derringagun.

Hi Michael,
Thank you very much for your message.
Just to clarify, is there a specific query that we may be able to advise you on?
Kind regards,

An extensive search was done and a book was made about our family's journey to America but it can only be traced back to ancestors I mentioned in the previous message. I understand many records have been lost from those years, so, known history of my direct family ends there. Unless there is someone else who knows of this family tree root....all I can say is "Hello" to my fellow parishoners.
I recently connected with a school mate with the surname "Collison". We were amusing ourselves with the thought that we may have had similar ancestry. Upon looking at some sites, the search got confusing as there is both Scottish and Irish claim to the name Collison. Another site showed that Collins and Collison were derived from the Irish name Cullen dating back to the 5th century. Would you have nay input to the validity of that claim?
Thank you much for any information. :)
