Leonard family

Hi Jacqui,

There are 6 Patrick Leonards born 1900 + - 5 years in Fermanagh on rootsireland.ie.

Do you have a birth year or name of spouse to narrow it down?

On ancestry there is a Clare Sullivan public member tree which has Patrick Leonard born Kerrytown NZ 1902 parents Thomas Leonard and Hannah Brosnahan. Thomas was from county Kerry. 

Patrick married Edna Fitzelle & died 30 Aug 1964. I assume this isn't your man?

I have a birthdate of 1904, his parents were Peter F Leonard and  Mary Teresa Maguire. He married Kathleen Joyce in New Zealand.

rootsireland.ie has the marriage record of Peter F and ----  Maguire (not Mary) in Enniskillen 1892

I found later that another tree on ancestry has her name as Teresa (which I didn't try when searching).

If you purchase that record you will get his parents' names and be able to go back another generation or two hopefully.

Patrick's birth record is also on the site.

I searched rootsireland.ie for children of Peter F and ? Maguire 1885 + - 20 years and got 7 matches:

James J 1893 Mary C 1895 Sarah E 1897 Charles J 1898 Patrick F 1900 Teresa 1902 & Patrick Edward 1904 (the baby) all Fermanagh.

There are 148 Leonards in Fermanagh on Griffiths Valuation which was done in Fermanagh in 1862; 8 are in Enniskillen.

There is an Enniskillen page under Find My Parish which you may want to look at and ask about life in the late 1800's there as well as asking about the family.

Thank you so much, that has been really helpful, that must be the  correct family as those are the names I have of his brothers and sisters except for Patrick F, I have a Peter F. Now to find out more about his time there. Again thanks for your help!
