hi,

I am trying to connect James McCaffrey b.1860 Fermanagh, and emigrated to Philadelphia to..............

Anne McCaffrey b.1852 Fermanagh, who married Thomas FEE and lived at Mullyknock, Ballyreagh, Fermanagh.

I think they are siblings, but can't be certain........

  • I've never heard of a townland called Mullyknock in Aghavea Parish!  Thats an interesting one!

I think the chapel in Brookeborough (St Marys) was opened in approximately 1857.  There might be a small chance that the family attended this new chapel and there might be a birth record for James.  There might also be a marriage record for Anne as usually marriage takes place at the brides chapel.  Have you explored this route?

  • My mistake, it is in the Parish of Enniskillen.

Mullyknock is also known as Topped Mountain, and is just outside Tempo on the road to Enniskillen.

Thomas grew up in Aghavea, and I am guessing Anne did as well.

I have a record of their marriage in 1872, which was registered at Lisnaskea.

When my Grand Aunt Cecelia emigrated to the US in 1930 she gave her Uncle James McCaffry as her contact in the US.

I am just hoping a relation of James reads this and can help me make the connection.

Thank you for your input, it is much appreciated.
