My ancestor John Fields was probably born in Lisserboy townland c1855 (no birth record found, source 1901 census Liverpool). He married Susan McCann of Maphoner, Forkhill parish, County Armagh in 1873. His father was Francis and his stepmother was Margaret Grant. Francis's house and plot are listed in the Griffiths valuation.
He settled in Liverpool c1881 where most of his children were born.

Hi there,
Have you also tried checking the earlier land record called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38)? This might offer more information for you.
The church records for Newry (Dromore) are available from 1818. You could try contacting the parish priest in the area or PRONI (Public Records of Northern Ireland). Do you what religion John Fields was?
Hopefully the name will ring a bel with someone in the area who might be carrying out the same research as you.
