Looking for family of Robert (Davy) Clarke born 1890 and killed in WW1 in Belgium 1918. Had a son David who married Sarah Jane Calvert

    Below are the likely 1901 and 1911 census records for Robert's family. Looks like his mother died between 1901 and 1905 since David married Elizabeth Wilson in 1905.

  • Thank you. I had found the 1901 return but couldn't get the 1911. Can't find any trace oif Robert in 1911. Is it possible he could already be in the army and based somewhere?

    I could not locate Robert anywhere in Co. Down so the army is a good possibility.

    Did you know that Robert Clarke had 3 children - David, George & Margaret.  He died on 25 October 1918 in Belgium.  His son George moved to Australia where he married & had 3 children.
