Searching for records and any family information (births/deaths/marriages/siblings) pertaining to Robert Halliday (b. abt 1861), his father John Halliday/mother unknown. Robert Halliday marriage to Anna Moore. Anna's parents Hans Moore and Agnes (maiden unknown). Looking for siblings of Robert Halliday and Anna Moore and their births. The only children I have for Robert/Anna Moore are James Halliday (b. 2 Apr 1880 Clea, Down), and William (Robert) Halliday (b. 4 May 1884 Killyleagh, Down) and in search of others. Interested in connecting with family descendants.

Robert and Anna were married in 1877. Below is the civil marriage index record. You can get a copy for around 4 euros from the General register Office. The record should show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where the bride and groom were living in 1877. If you plan to get a copy let me know and I will forward instructions.

I looked at the 1901 and 1911 censuses. Not sure I have the correct family. Looks like this family moved within the parish between 1901 and 1911. The 1911 census shows 5 children with four living in 1911. The 1901 census shows a John and Robert. not sure if the Robert is William.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Instructions below.

    Roger

Go to this link http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx In the middle of the page there are links for birth, marriage or death certificates. Hit the link for the form you want. You will likely get a screen asking for a User Name and Password. (This is a program bug that the GRO has to correct). Hit cancel and the appropriate form should come up. Print the form and complete the requested information. Also provide the information from the index record--quarter/year of the event, registration district and the volume and page number where the event is recorded. Make sure you ask for a copy which costs around 4 euros. ( A cert costs closer to 20 euros). You can also ask the GRO to e-mail the copy back to you.

  • Many thanks, for your helpfulness with link to obtaining a Marriage Certificate. I have form printed and will be faxing away the information soon. It will be nice to bring a small piece of Ireland to Victoria, BC, CANADA.
