My 2 times great grandparents were Samuel Craig (b 12 Jan 1827 in Dromara, died 6 May 1881) and Eliza Jane Dalzel (b 1825 in Derryneill, died 17 March 1895 in Drumgooland). They married 23 Jan 1846 in Drumgooland church of Ireland.
Their children were Samuel (1864-1952), Agnes or Nancy (1867-1941) and Susannah (1870-1889).
Samuel's father was also named Samuel. Eliza's father was Robert Dalzel, a stonecutter.
Any information on the Craigs and Dalzels would be appreciated.
Brian.

Statutory birth registration only started in Ireland in 1864. Since this couple married in 1846, there’s a fair chance they had other children prior to 1864, but to trace then you would need to look up church records. Drumgooland’s baptism records start in the 1780s and there’s a copy in PRONI (the public record office) in Belfast. Their copies are not on-line and so a personal visit is required to access them. If you are unable to go there yourself, you may need to employ a researcher.

I searched for a will for Samuel but he dies not appear to have left one, or at least not one that required probate.
