Looking for the family of my great grandfather John White born 1838/39 according to his military records. Joined the army in April 1856 and was born in Dromore have not had any luck tracing the family through other sites. Please can you help.

As far as I know he would have been roman catholic, I am assuming this because my father and his two sisters were Roman Catholic.
I now that John joined the army and then when he retired he went to live in Wigan. His eldest son was called George and he was born in South Africa. Going further back from John is where I am now having problems if you can help I would be very grateful.
