I'm looking for imformation of my great grandmother, Ellen Rooney, who immirgrated to Australia in the 1860's. Her father was Arthur & her mother Ellen nee Hayes. Arthurs occupation says farmer
Ellen married my great grand father George Haughton at the Tambo Inn, Queensland, Australia in 1867 Apparently Ellen Rooney was born at Moneygall, Kings County & I do not know where abouts that is as these two names are not listed in any parishes etc on this pages lists, so I would appreciate where to look, for this area for a start.
Ellen died on 02.10.1902 at Alpha, Qld Australia.

King's County is the older name for County Offaly in the west midlands of Ireland, and Moneygall is the name of a town and townland in this county. The town is located in the civil parish of Cullenwaine.
p.s. Moneygall is the town where some of US President Obama's ancestors originated.
