I am descended from Alexander L. Greer (1806-1884). His obituary states that he was born in County Down; his father, James, was in the linen industry in Belfast and died in 1814; and his mother, Jane, and her six children (including ALG, Thomas, and Ester) emigrated in 1817 to Cincinnati, Ohio, and then moved across the Ohio River to Covington, Kentucky. Shortly later, Ester married Allen Culbertson, who was born in Newton-Stewart, County Tyrone. My spouse and I visited Ireland and Northern Ireland in 2013 and hope to return in 2020. I'm hoping to learn more about the Greer family, especially their parish and townland. Thanks for any help or suggestions!
