Hello
My GGGrandfather Patrick MURRAY (~1826 - 1901) married Isabella/Bella HENRY (1841-1913) on (01/01/) 1864 in Strabane, Tyrone, Ireland.
Patrick was listed coming from Garrisonhill, Patrick's father was listed as John MURRAY, Isabella's father as William HENRY. No mother's names given.
Exploring Tithe Applotment 1833 yields a John MURRAY in Garrison and Rose in 1857's Griffith. While there is no hard evidence I believe these to be the parents of Patrick, with John having died before 1857 and Rose taking over the farmland.
Has anyone come across this family name from this area in their own research or is anyone familiar with local data sources beyond the online public reconrds where the "oldest" record I could find was the marriage information for Patrick and Isabella? (I was able to find quite a number of descendants of Patrick and Isabella, including my GGrandfather, I am mainly interested in going further back in time and what type of options are available).
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Kind regards
William John (Murray)
P.S.: I am also looking into geentic genealogy but so far no family link. The only relatively certain thing to say is that my direct paternal line traces hundreds and hundreds of years back in Northwest Ireland (IRISH HIGH KINGS~SAINT COLUMBA & Niall Noigíallach King of Ireland,400 AD. OF 9 HOSTAGES R-M222 for those into DNA genealogy)

William:
There is a book written by Tom Gallen called Donegal Generations. The book is based in Donaghmore parish and eventually a grandson emigrates to Philaeldphia. http://tomgallen.com/

@Cronan: thanks a lot, could as well have asked you directly on facebook :)
@Roger: yes, I have been in touch with Tom but he has no further insights into my family. He said he would let me know if he came across anything as he seems to still be researching the parish.
Thanks for the help
Regards
William
