I am looking for 2 brothers, Henry Moutray Jones b. c1792 and Edward Jones. Both are registered as born in Ireland. They started a wharf monger business in Fishmonger's Hall Wharf, London in early 1800's. They are registered as living in London on census records. They disolve thier partnership in c1850 but independently continue in wharf mongering. Henry M buys a large property in the Dublin outskirts. I think they could only have come from Antrim. They are either Protestant or Church of Ireland. Re-accuring family christian names are, Willoughby, Moutray, Anketell and a Hobart.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thankyou.

Unfortunately not many church records go back to the 1700s, and what does exist is not necessarily on-line. You say that the Jones were either Church of Ireland or Protestant. Church of Ireland is protestant. Perhaps you meant Presbyterian?
However without some idea of where in Antrim that you think they lived, it is very hard to offer any useful information or guidance. And there may not be any records to find. (About 50% of the early Church of Ireland records were destroyed in the 1922 fire in Dublin).

Henry Moutray Jones (1793-15.10.1883 Dublin) married Sarah Finlay (1792-25.10.1876 Dublin). No children. She was referred to in A. E. Gayer's book "Memoirs of the Family of Gayer" 1870, as his cousin, but in fact she was his 2nd cousin once removed. I would assume they were Church of Ireland as A.E. Gayer was very fond of her, he was very religious - he one of the Ecclesiastical Commissioners 1858-69, when disestablishment of the C of I occurred under Gladstones bill, and his brother was a C of I minister in Dingle, co Kerry.
