My great-grandfather James Trolan immigrated to western PA around 1890 with several siblings and mother. They were from Motalee, Magherafelt. I believe Trolans are still in this area. Does anyone know more?

There’s 4 Trolans listed in the current Northern Ireland phone book.1 in Portstewart , 2 in Draperstown and 1 in Magherafelt. I can’t give you the details on this board because of our policy on giving out information on living people but you should be able to find them easily enough. None of them live in Motalee but the Magherafelt and Draperstown ones are not far away.
They had left Motalee by the time of the 1901 census:

James Trolan had been on plot 37 which was a house and a half an acre. The revaluation records show him leaving in 1891.
