I'm looking for any information regarding my great-grandmother's family, the Berryman family. I believe they left Ireland around 1860-1861 and settled in Gloucester, NJ, which is just outside of Philadelphia, PA. On the US census there were 6 adults in the home so I don't even know which set of adults were my great great grandparents and which were great aunts and uncles. There was an Isabel McAlese (could have been McNeece) who was married to one of the Berryman men. Any information would be most appreciated. From what little information I have gathered, there doesn't appear to have been very many people named Berryman in Ireland.
Thank you!! :)

Hi Lyn
ancestry has records of Berrymans born in Ireland who died in Glocester, Philadelphia.
I checked some of these on www.rootsireland.ie/ and found some.
The consistent county was DERRY, parish BALLINDERRY C of I.
There were another couple from MAGHERAFELT parish.
Specifics:
Sarh Anne Berryman 30/5/1843 address Ballydonnell parents William farmer & Eliza
George 10/11/1854 Ballylifford John weaver & Christina
Robert 11/7/1856 same as George
If you have a look at a site called PRONI (Public Records Northern Ireland) and tyr name search you'll find 11 early Berryman records.
