Looking for the family of Bernard O'Kane. He worked a farm in Corik, Derry. He married Annie (last name unknown). His children were Bridie who married Liam Gormley; Brandan and Ann. His parents were Patrick O'Kane and Ann McCloskey. Siblings: Patrick, Mary A, Arthur, Henry, Jane, Bridget, Sarah and John. Patrick, Ann A, Arthur, Henry, Bridget and Sarah emigrated to the US. I am the granddaughter of Arthur and am trying to connect with the family.

Bernard was born @ 1894 in Ballynascreen, Parish Dungiven, Derry. He died 17 November 1971 in Roe Valley Hospital and is buried in St. Patricks RC cemetery in Dungiven. His daughter Bridie married Liam Gormley in 1970 at St. Eugene's Cathedral. I believe they had a daughter, Breige Marie @ 1973. I do not know about the other children Ann or Brendan. I am under the impression there were a lot of McCloskey's associated with the family...one being John Francis McCloskey. Perhaps he is Bernard's wife's brother? She was Annie but I don't know her last name. Does Manasban sound like a name used to distinguish among families? I know they called this John Francis "Manasban" but I am not sure what it means.

O'Kane Patrick of Cashel county Londonderry farmer died 10 January 1922 Probate Londonderry 10 March to Annie O'Kane widow. Effects £17.
The will itself should be in PRONI. You might want to look it up to see who he mentioned. Likewise Bernard may have left a will in 1971. That too should be in PRONI and worth a look.
Bernard O’Kane is a fairly common name and I can see quite a few marriages in the period 1911- 1935. I didn’t see one to a McCloskey. You could go through them all looking for one to any Anns, and then pay to view them. You can view the original certificates on-line on the GRONI website, using the “search registrations” option:

Elwyn, Thank you for your help in this. I will look in Proni and see if I can find more on Bernard and set up a quick account with Geni to get whatever I can...that would also help in finding the rest of the siblings. Jane and John who remained.
