Hi,
I am researching my familys tree and have come across a William Wilkinson who was born in 1855 in County Derry. He appears to have been in the UK and then in 1911 he is at Knockadoo, Lissan Upper, Londonderry.
I am also searching my family Varley. They lived in the 1800s in the Irish areas of Leeds. Cannot seem to trace whether they have come from Ireland or not.
If anyone can help me with this, I would be so appreciative. I am knew at this family history research so any help would be great.
Thank you
Diane

Diane,
The GRONI marriage records suggest William Wilkinson married Eliza Crooks on 8.11.1879. (Registered in Cookstown). If you get a copy of the certificate it should give you their fathers names, occupations and townlands with which to take the research back. (Tradition was to marry in the bride?s church so that may be the place to find her baptism and that of any siblings).
The revaluation records for Knockadoo show Wm Wilkinson acquiring plot 3 in Knockadoo in 1884. This appears to be his family in 1901:

In 1902 he surrendered that farm and moved to plot 36 (a farmhouse, outbuildings and c 18 acres).
His probate abstract (full file in PRONI):
Wilkinson William of Knockadoo county Londonderry farmer died 31 August 1935 Probate Belfast 8 October to Thomas Mitchell and George McCullagh farmers. Effects ?305 15s. 2d.
