I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and located a transcription of the 1861 married of Edward and Ellen.
I searched for a baptismal record for Edward and the only record around 1837 was an 1836 record shown below.
I did not find any baptismal records for children of Ellen and Edward.

Griffiths Valuation for 1858 lists 2 Dogherty farms in Aughil. Cornelius had plot 4 a 26 acre farm and Hugh had plot 6, a 14 acre farm. Hugh would appear to be the father of the Edward baptised in October 1836 that Roger has found.
Those 2 farms today are on the Sea Coast Rd, just north of the Coleraine – Londonderry railway line, not far from Magilligan station.
