Hello, I am looking for my ggg-grandmother Ellen Connolly's family.  She married Daniel McCarthy Knoc of Garryglass in March of 1821.  Connollys witnessing McCarthy events included Darby, Norry, another Ellen, Patt, and Donal.  One Susanna Fuller was another baptism sponsor, I think she was married to Darby.   In fact their marriage record says they actually eloped a year earlier !

Some of these people are in the Drinagh tithe applotment, although it's difficult to conclusively say which Connollys they were.  I would love to touch base with anybody else descended from these Connollys.  Who were my 4g Connolly grandparents?

Ellen Connolly = Dan McCarthy's son Cornelius was the son of a Daniel McCarthy who became a well-known schoolteacher in Drinagh.  I am descended from their daughter Mary.

  • Hi,

My great great grandmother was Catherine Connolly, parents Cornelius and probably Julia Connolly.  They emigrated to London in the 1860s.  I have further information but need to double check a couple of facts. Not sure if we are connected to  the other Connollys, but who knows!

We recently held family reunions with cousins rediscovered in the UK.  Would like to organise a visit to west Cork next year, but would like to link into something happening.
