I believe my great gandfather came from Doneraile or Mallow. He immigrated to the USA in 1899, if I found the correct immigration papers, it was 1899 and the city written down was Daneraile. Since there is no city of that name in Ireland, I figured it was written down incorrectly in New York and was actually Doneraile. There is not much known about my great grandfather, due to the fact he was killed working on the trolley line on the Brooklyn Bridge on Feb 13, 1914 when my grandfather was 10 months old. His wife Katie (married around 1905?) shortly thereafter disappears from any written record and my grandfather, his two brothers and sister were all put in an orphanage. Hoping there is someone in Doneraile or Mallow has some knowledge of a Maurice Walsh being born in 1877 and left for America in 1899. I am bringing my 82 year old father to Ireland this May (2015) to see the homeland and hopefully find something out about his grandfather's life. Hoping someone has some stories passed down over the years, or old letters from Maurice home, or Parish records, but any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time,
Joe Walsh

Again, thank you for any info regarding my great grandfather, Maurice Walsh, born ~1877 and immigrated to the USA in 1899. Thanks,

There was just one Maurice Walsh birth registered in Mallow in 1877 (Volume 15, page 504). There was another in 1876, but assuming you are certain yours was born in 1877 then it might be worth ordering a copy to see who his parents were and where he was born etc.
You can order a photocopy of the certificate from GRO Roscommon for ?4. http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx
You have to download and print off the form. Then either post or fax it back to them. You can?t e-mail it to them. However if you want them to e-mail the cert to back to you, they will do that, so tick the relevant box.
Put the reference details on the form (anywhere). Don?t worry about leaving some boxes blank. As long as GRO have the location, name(s), year, quarter (where there is one), volume and page number they should find it.
