My information on the Casey Family is of little help to you as it does not go back that far. One of my ancestors married a William Casey in Doneraille in 1840. His wife was a Catherine Duane who was baptised in 1819. (Her sister Johanna - it was a popular name in the area - was my great-great grandmother). Whether this William Casey fits in with your Tree, I do not know. From the dates, he may have been a generation after your ancestor.

Thomas Casey was a resident of Kilbrin, and were selected for the emigration scheme by Lord Doneraile

Thomas his wife and 5 children  arrived on board the John Barry  in  Quebec 6th July 1825 and proceeded to Montreal on the 8 July 1825.

The couple seems to have married in Ballyclough county Cork, Johanna's home address at the time of her marriage was Kilbrin.

Son James Casey was born in Ballyclough on the 24 Dec 1814, no further records available.

You mention that Thomas was born in Buttevant, what record is the source for this? In general baptism records for Buttevant do not start till 1814, records for Ballyclough start in 1807.

 Is there a marriage date for Johanna and Thomas? Is her last name McCarthy or McCarty on your records? Can you share your source so I can indicate in my records, also for James' birthday?

My information for Thomas is not documented. Some others have said Buttefin? No one knows for sure. He could have been from ballyclough too.

Thank you for the information on James Casey. I only had a birth year for him and not a date. He turns out to be a very important person in Erie Pennyslvania history. Their family is responsible for the building of many railroads, cathedrals, schools, and real estate there. His Son becomes the Vicar General of the Erie Diocese.

There are a few People that have said his parents are James Casey and Susan Nangle, but they don't give documentation for this in their trees. The Peter Robinson book by bill La Branche says that he was born in 1790, Cork.

I have searched the 1766- Religious Census for Casey's in County Cork

These are the townes with Casey Names befroe 1825: Bruhenny, Shandrum,Kilnamurtyra,Inniscarra,Yougal,Kilworth,Farrahy,Castelyons,Aughadown.

Sorry I forgot to put the marriage date in they married on the 20th Feb 1814 in Ballyclough, I found this record on www.rootsireland.ie a subcription site. I had a quick look for a baptism for Thomas with parents James Casey and Susan Nagle but the records start around 1800 in the area so no luck
