Looking for My Great Great Grandfather Cornelius Crowley's Ancestors

Do you have any other information pertaining to Cornelius and Mary? Do you know what religion they were? Or their dates of birth or marriage?

Most Catholic records are held locally - One site which might be of use is - http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/ - where you can ?browse? an overview of available records per county. If you have any difficulty, you could try writing to the parish priest for possible assistance. Church of Ireland parish registers for the period up to 1870-are public records. Registers are available for about one third of the parishes, however many were destroyed in the Public Records Office in Dublin in 1922. Most are still held by the local clergy, although some are in the National Archives of Ireland and others are in the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. I have read your query with interest.  

How sure are you that Cornelius was born in Ballymoney parish - you give me no evidence?

You say that Cornelius was your G G Grand-father, and your grand-father was born in USA in 1871.  Is there a generation gap here, or are you referring to your G grand-father?

The name of the ship would be a help to trace the date of his arrival in USA.

I did a guick search in the Catholic Church records for the parish of Enniskeane and find three possible candidates for Cornelius

2 April 1829 - Cornelius born to James Crowley & Anne Delay,-

6 July 1858 - Cornelius born to John Crowley & Honora Sheehy -

16 April 1859 - Cornwelius born to Brian Crowley & Mary Quinlan

No townlamd mentioned for either, which is normal for the church records

Note: Enniskeans & Desertserges is the name of the Catholic Parish

          Ballymoney is the name of the Church of Ireland parish
