My great grandfather was Patrick Lombard.  He married Catherine Murphy.  One of their children was Richard Lombard, born on April 15, 1869, who emigrated to Connecticut in the USA when he was about 19 years of age.  I believe most of my Irish relatives are from either Ballyhooly, Fermoy or Cork.  My grandfather, Richard Lombard, was from Ballyhooly.  My father, John Lombard, son of Richard Lombard, kept in touch with relatives in the area of Cork and when I was in my twenties, I visited some of them.  I'm now 71 years of age this month.  I'd love to connect with relatives that I might still have in southern Ireland...most likely in County Cork.

  • Hi James,

Thank you very much for your message. I hope that someone connected to this family sees this and contacts you.

In the meantime, it may be an idea to contact the parish priest in these areas. He may be able to let you know if there are still any Lombards in the area, or perhaps they may be able to put a message in one of their newsletters. Here are the contact details:

Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi James, I'm messaging from Cork and I'm a relative of you in some way. My Great Grandfather Denis was the son of Patrick Lombard that you mentioned above and his second wife. I already got in contact with some of your relatives in Connecticut last year!
If you want you can email me aileenomahony6@gmail.com I'd be happy to talk to you in more detail.
