I ve just begun my research into my Egan side of the family as I will be coming to Ireland this summer to visit my newly acquainted Killeen family of county Clare. Thomas Egan 1807 Mayo -1863 Westport Ontario Canada married Ellen Bridget Mulvihill of Ireland (1819-1896). From what I have researched Ellen's parents were James Mulvihill and Catherine Scanlan. Thomas and Ellen's daughter Mary Egan (born in Ontario) marries my gggrandfather Michael Killeen born in county Clare and came to Canada in 1849. Another generation of Egans actually marry into the Killeen family. Looking to connect with my Egans of county Mayo and discover where my ancestors are actually from so I might include a visit to the area in my itinerary this August.
