Another one of my mystery families. John O'Donnell & Eliza Driscoll had one daughter Anne/Annie.that i know of.  She was b c 1840 Clare . On her death cert it states Mymose which I believe could be Moymore . She married Patrick Mcmahon from Tomgraney 1861 Sandhurst Vic . I believed she arrived that same year.( Patrick is on one of my other Tomgraney posts)..After looking at replies for this family I looked  at Griffiths Valuations for John O'Donnell . There was one for Parish of Killaspuglonane Townland Moymore Nth Placename Moymore Nth. I believe this may be him., Your thoughts on this please. can't really find anything on Eliza Driscoll. I did find a death for a John O'Donnell died Moymore 1880 & he was married . So that means Eliza was still alive but can't find a death for her with an area of Moymore. I also found a death for a John O'Donnell Vic Aust  aged abt 72 which makes him being born 1802 roughly same as the other one.He was not a witness at his daughters wedding in 1861

Your thoughts on which road to take now would be greatly appreciated..

  • I grew up in Killaspuglonane in the 60s and early 70s. By then, although still the name of our townland, it was no longer the name of the Parish. Although then people attended Mass at Moymore church, it was part of Liscannor Parish. The People from the Moymore/Killaspuglonane area would have all been members of Liscannor Parish for many decades, and if you wish to connect, I suggest you go there. 100 years ago Killaspuglonane was one of the largest Parishes in Clare in terms of area, but it contained no villages or towns, so it was incorporated into Liscannor Parish, although Moymore contained the actice church for the countryside. 1o years ago, the Liscannor Parish priest still served Mass there regularly, but I do not know the case at this time. The Parish Priest's name is Father Denis Crosby, and he is a very good man. He will help you.

  • Well, I don't know because Moymore is a large townland. I qwent to Moymore National School, but I really didn't know anyone in Moymore except a few of the children.
