~~I am searching for John O'Brien and his wife Margaret Gallagher, who was born in County Clare. John was born approx 1812, Margaret approx 1816. They had children Bridget b.1838,and Dennis b.1839 who I believe were both born in Ireland before they emigrated to Australia. I can find no details of their date of arrival in Australia, nor either of their births. Margaret died in 1888 in Sydney, leaving 6 living children and having had 7 deceased children. Any help would be most appreciated

Have you tried using the Clare Library website? They have done a great job of putting a lot of resources online such as emigraton and passenger ship information. I will have a look for you in our parish registers, but if you haven't taken a look at the Library website, it is well worth doing. Their link is www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/genealogy/genealog.htm.
