  • Hello Kerryn,

As you have so little information to go on I would suggest that you do as much research over there as you can.  Any idea of dates of birth? any idea of dates of immigration?  I see from your profile that you are in australia.  The australians kept fantastic records.  Have you looked up the ships registers.  Each territory in Australia has their own website for these records.  Do you know if they were convicts, assisted passengers or what?

the name nestor is quite unusual here so that shold help your search.  Not like looking for a ryan or o brien!!!

Importantly were they catholic or church of ireland?  All these factors help to refine your search.

Church records are on www.rootsireland.ie   and some are on www.irishgenealogy.ie

Information can be found on www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/links

    property records at www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/

    titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie

    migration records www.immigrantships.net   www.pcug.org.au~ppmay/convicts.htm

    Plus the australian records themselves.

As it's an unusual name I think you may be in luck.

Happy hunting, and enjoy your trip to Ireland

    regards,

    Anne
