My grandmother was Mary A Kilty born in 1908 in County Clare. SHe went over to Montreal in about 1928 to train as a Nun. She met my grandfather James Crichton and married in Montreal in 1928. I am looking for her parents and any information on this Kilty line.

There were no Kilty records in Co. Clare in the 1911 census. www.census.nationalarchives.ie I'm wondering if the surname was Kildea. Look at this census record and see if you think this is your family. They lived in Ballyshanny townland in Kilfenora civil parish. I also found a 1907 civil birth index record for a Mary Kildea.
