William Leinster & Sarah Braden - Kilmore and Cavan?

Hi Pagan, I am looking over old queries and yours popped up, I searched Roots Ireland 1840 to 1860 and found both names in Cavan and Leitrim (ajoined counties) not a lot of them but in double figures, there was also one in County Down, what popped up was that they were primarily Presbyterian; one was a Methodist and the rest Church of Ireland, (Anglican) now if the Presbyterian congregation was small they often used the C of I for ceromonies. 

There was also a Lynster in Roscommon. Cavan and Leitirm are counties and Kilmore is a diocese, you can see the areas herehttps://www.townlands.ie/

Civil registration for Protestant marriages was introduced in 1845 and you can view them free here, search both names as there are a few of them.

Some Presbyterian records are not online and C of I records were lost in the civil war , over 40%. Also 

Have a  look at the marriages in the site above and the later post 1864 and if you know the religion I will look to see what older church records I can access.

Hi Pat, thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my original post, a number of years have passed and although the information I have found is still quite scant I have managed to find a few more details. I have established both my g/grandparents and their parents worked on the Farnham House estates belonging to the Maxwell family, I believe my great grandmother was born on one of estates and lived at Drumbar Lodge as this is stated on their marriage certificate. 

The rest is a work in progress but I will definitely have another look at the links you have provided, thank you again for your time.

Hi thank you for the information and getting back, had a look at the private Facebook page Cavan genealogy and there is a lady there who has posted about the family if you are not on the FB page you can apply to join and searh the name, she has numerous posts including the Farnham Estate. Did you als Cavan Library if the archives had any of the estate papers or if they are held anywher.
