Hi, Im trying to get more info about my Nolan and Dolan descendants and possible children they may have had after my great grandfather John James Nolan left Ireland in the year 1916 as an immigrant to the U.S. that may still have living offspring or descendants living in Ireland. If my strong feeling is correct then I will surely be glad to find that I may have a great great Aunt or Uncle living in Ireland that I never met.
Thank you! :-)
Francis John Nolan
P.s: Just in case someone has not noticed this message has attachments, at least one text document and the rest are images of my father, so if anyone in Ireland perhaps has like an old family photo album then their could be a resemblance; which is of course common in families when you look at facial features, etc. Im guessing that some advanced facial recognition pc software could help connect people in family trees together. But before family photo albums existed I wonder what else families had that would help them remember loved ones, etc.

Hi Francis,
Thank you for your message. It may be a good idea to contact the General Register?s Office in Dublin for information. Here is their website:

It may also be a good idea to place a message reaching out to the family in a more local forum to increase the likelihood that someone in the family or someone who knows the family sees it and makes a connection with you. Some possible places include local newspapers or parish newsletters.
I hope this suggestion is helpful. Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
Kind regards,
