Hi all
I am searching for my 3 great grandmother Agnes Davis, she was married to Robert Davis, early 1800s, their daughter Eliza married James Armstrong from Fermanagh and they emigrated to Australia in 1841. Eliza and James had 4 sons all born in Fermanagh, between 1831 and 1839. Robert,James, Thomas and William. Robert Davis is listed on Eliza's headstone "Wife of James Armstrong of Redfern, Sydney daughter of Robert Davis near Killeshandra Co Caven Ireland. I am under the impression that Agnes was widowed before Eliza left to come tho Australia. My only link to Killeshandra is the inscription on her headstone. Are you able to help me at all.

Hi Jan,
rootsireland.ie has 1 burial record for a Robert Davis in Cavan - 1850; the parish is Cavan Church of Ireland
i couldn't find a record of his marriage to Agnes or the birth of Eliza
The Tithe Applotments have no Robert Davis in Cavan but have Hugh, James and 2 Thomases all in Killeshandra.
There is a Robert Davis in Griffiths Valuation Cavan 1857 place-name Bridge Street Townland Abbeyland Parish Urney and Barony Loughtee Upper

Jan I had a bit of a think and realised I hadn't checked ancestry.com
I searched public member trees for Eliza and the Novotny/Rist tree mentions that Eliza arrived in 1841 with family on the ship Helen. Her mother: Davis, Agnes Widow (source Bounty Immigrants 1828-1842)
The other source of Eliza's details mentioned is the Assisted Immigrants Passengers List 1828-96.
This has the family as you describe it with Religion Presbyterean which would tie in with the C of I burial of Robert mentioned above.
Hopefully a Killeshandra / Cavan expert will be able to find the marriage and Agnes.
