I am searching for James Caffrey who was born 1785ish. He had a son John James who was born in 1815. Any information would be appreciated.

Hi Paul,
I have attached the results of searches on rootsireland for the Caffrey boys.
The parish of James's birth is Castletara rather than Kilashandra however.
rootsireland is a pay site so if you want the details of parents and parish you'll need to purchase the records for a few dollars.
I'm not a Cavan expert so I'm not sure of the relationship between Castletara and Killashandra sorry.

Hi,
I am a little new to this site, so bare with me... I think I may have some info for you. I don't have much info, but I'm willing to share what I have! I have a few more things, let me know if this seems right.

Thanks for the information, however it doesn't match the information that I have, although they are quite possibly related somehow. The James Caffrey in my tree was born about 1785, was a Revenue Officer( looking for illicit stills and moonshine), was present at his son's wedding in 1838 in England and died about 1860. The son was John James, there may have been siblings, was born in 1815 and died in London, England in 1900. He was my 3x great grandfather.
I hope this information is useful to you, and should you want any more, just ask.
We might be related somehow!
Paul Morris.
