Hello Drumlane group. I am stumped. Found an 1854 Kingston, Ontario marriage registration (St. Mary's Cathedral) which gives parent names of Miles Lavin (deceased by 1854) and Bridget Hanly or Hauly.

The stumper is that their parish is what looks like "Parish of Drumlane, County Galway". There is no Drumlane in Galway. I have done vowel substitution searches (dr*ml*) and not come up with a candidate parish in Galway. Given that the priest in this case would be Canadian, possibly French Canadian, I wonder if they did not tell him the parish and he made an assumption.

Miles Lavin and Bridget Hanly must have been married about 1825 in "Drumlane" and likely did not come to Canada. Their son, Patrick Lavin, would have been born about 1830 presumably in Drumlane. I have created a WeRelate page for this family and posted an image of the parish register in case somebody else can untangle the place spelling better that I can:

If anyone knows of a Miles Lavin & Bridget Hanly/Hauly marriage from about 1825, I would be most grateful to hear of it.

Thank you.
