I'm hoping to find information on the McGrath family of Cootehill/Annaghard/Drumgoon Co Cavan.

Michael McGrath married Mary McNally and had a possible 8 children:

1- John bc1856 (not too sure if he is their child)

2- Francis bc 1857 (not too sure if he is there child)

3- Alice bc 1864

4- Nicholas bc 1867

5- Michael bc1869

6- James bc 1873

7- Bridget bc 1878

8- Peter bc 1880

What I know so far is:

In 1901 Michael & Mary were liv Annaghard Cootehill with their children (5) Michael, (8) Peter, (7) Bridget,  and their grandchildren Mary Alice McDermott and Peter McDermott (children of (3) Alice)

In 1911 Michael has passed away sometime before and Mary is liv Annaghard Cootehill with her children: (7) bridget, (8) Peter and her grandchildren Mary Alice McDermott and Peter McDermott

What I'd like to know for sure is:

In 1901 a Nicholas McGrath is liv Drumbarkey Cootehill with his wife Bridget (possibly Collins) with their children: Mary Elena and John Owen. Is this (4) Nicholas?

In 1911 Bridget McGrath (wife of Nicholas) is liv Drumbarkey Cootehill with her children: Mary Ellen, John Owen, Rose & Lizy Agnes. I this the family of (4) Nicholas?

In 1911 a Michael McGrath is liv Corragarry Corraneary with his wife Mary Ann and daughter Mary Alice. They are married under one year but the daughter is aged 5. Is this (5) Michael? Was his wife Mary Ann married before producing dau Mary Alice? Or not married having Mary Alice?

Any help at all about ANY of the family would be a tremendous help. Can you help? Dates of birth/marriages/deaths? Who married who? Anything at all on Michael McGrath and Mary McNally?Anything at all

    I can help with a few of your questions. Looks like Michael died in 1905 and Mary in 1915. See index records below. I also found the civil marriage index record for the 1899 marriage of Nicholas and Bridget. You can get a copy of this marriage record from the General Register office for around 4 euros. The marriage record would show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where the bride and groom were living when married. If the record shows Michael McGrath then likely you have proved the connection. You can also get copies of the death records.

    Let me know if you need instructions for getting copies from the GRO.
