  • Hi William,

I kept pressing next through them all & it did not turn up, I wonder is it in a different parish even co Monaghan, as Bailieborough Co Cavan is in Meath, try Co Monaghan.  You can also use the browse function.

If you get nothing let me know

i got nothing but to help the cavan people out you will never guess where it turned up yes carmel for the second time the county of down has taken over the cavan records

and on going through the tithe applotment record of 1828 there is no deneher recorded but there are a lot of dempseys and one of them is henry dempsey and another individual is andrew hogg

which when i go to the griffith valuation i discover that mary dempsey holds 12a and the landlord is rev andrew hogg and joseph deneher holds 12b and the landlord is henry dempsey

so if anyone knows anything about deneher and his family or if anyone knows anything about henry dempsey and his landlord rentbook records let me know by return

  • sadie  thanks ive just posted this message on ireland xo

    6. DYKER is a name largely confined to the same Northeast region of Scotland that the Duke of Perth, the Scottish landlord who owned the land the family tenanted in County Monaghan, came from

if i dont get information back i will be in contact with you to follow up any leads thgat may be generated

    Hi Liam

That's so interesting regarding the Dyker/Deneher name possible link to Scotland its a unusual name for our area.

I should be able to find out more about the Walkers I have a relative who will know.. The  Walker house is beautiful old stone house its occupied now by neighbours.

Most families who appear in Griffiths Valuation are still in this area for Skerrig Tullybrick and Mayo.

Ok if any further help needed let me know I have only ever done my own family tree but I know so many people in area also most families married within a short radius I can only go back to my great great grandparents on paper but we are in Skerrig generations.

    Best Regards
