I found information that my Cotter family is from Cooteshill, Cavan County, Ireland. Do not know if this is correct or not. Found a George Cotter, right time period, listed for Drumgoon Parish. He is the only Cotter I found in the Cooteshill area so if the info that my family is from there it is good chance he is the relative. I have emailed several parishes, libraries and genealogy societies and no one has ever responded.
Even if George turns out to be a bad person I still would like the information.
How do I get someone to respond?

Many churches and libraries receive a lot of genealogical enquiries. Often more than they can cope with, and so it’s not unusual not to receive a reply, especially if the enquiry isn’t very specific or is likely to require a lot of investigation. They often don't have the resources to deal with that type of enquiry.
What’s the information that you have to link your family with Cootehill, and where did you find George Cotter in Irish records? Please give relevant dates, and religious denomination(s).
