Any copy of these original records would be wonderful and helpful.

Lenore:
The marriage between Alice and Phelix was in 1857 in the Aughavas RC parish. In Roots Ireland, Phelix was shown as Felix.
Later this summer the National Library of Ireland plans to place all RC parish registers online for free searching. I would look at the Aughavas and Bornacoola records at that time.
Since Anne Gallogy died in 1860 there is no civil record of her death (civil registration started in 1864).
You may want to contact the Aughavas church to find out about burial records.

Hi Lenore,
I am a descendant of Margaret E Gallogly who married James J Kiernan at Aughavas on 10 FEB 1873. Maybe Margaret is related to your Phelix?
Margaret Gallogly was born around 1848 in Ireland to Patrick Gallogly and Catherine Masterson.
James and Margaret immigrated to the US in 1884 and settled in Johnston Rhode Island. Their daughter, my great grandmother, Catherine Kiernan was actually born in Edinbourgh Scotland in 1880 but her next younger sister Margaret (called Peggy) was born back in Ireland around 1881.
Hope to hear back.

Hi Lenore,
KEEGAN is one of my mother-in-law's main lines.
I have surmised from what I've found that the father of her great-grandfather John KEEGAN was named Bartley but I've not discovered what Bartley's wife's name was nor who any of their other children may have been named.
John KEEGAN'S approximate birth year figured from the only 2 American censuses he appeared on before his death, is abt. 1845.
My John & your Alice appear to be of ages that brings up the possibility of their having been siblings. Or, not based on the large numbers of KEEGANs I've been seeing in the Aughavas Parish books at www.registers.nli.ie
My John married in St. Joseph's Church, Aghavas 12 Feb 1865 to Mary Harrahan.
Their Aughavas born children were Elizabeth Mary 2 Dec 1865; Katherine Teresa 22 Apr 1868; Margaret Lorette 15 Nov 1870 & John Joseph 10 Sep 1872.
At some point after that they left Ireland & settled in Providence, RI on Burrington St (no longer exists - lost to highway development in the late 1950's) in time for son Bartley Thomas (known later as Bartholmew Thomas) to be b. 19 Oct 1874 & their last son, William Francis b. 11 Mar 1877. As was the norm, both were home births born at Burrington St, Providence, Prov. Co, RI.
In May 1879 - day unknown - John died while in LaSalle, LaSalle Co, IL & was buried 2 Jul 1879 in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Providence, RI. Why he was in LaSalle & the method/cause of death have yet to be discovered but wife Mary & the children remained @ Burrington St. in Providence while he was out in IL.
If your Alice had a father named Bartley or even if you don't yet know what her father's name was, if you discover in the future that it was Bartley , please message me.
